1932 - Erik Hartwall's machine shop begins manufacturing the wiring and clamps for the porcelain caps used by the bottling industry in Finland.


1960s
 - K. Hartwall manufactures also car seat belts for Volvo and Saab.


1966
 - K. Hartwall starts manufacturing shopping trolleys.


1982 - K. Hartwall becomes IKEA's supplier and delivers furniture to the company for over 20 years.


1980s
 - K. Hartwall develops a new concept for the Finnish retailer SOK: a space-saving, nesting roll container. The concept is developed further in the late 80s for the three major Swedish retailers: ICA, KF, and Dagab. The Compactainer� is born.


1997
 - K. Hartwall inaugurates its in-house electro zinc-plating facility. It is still the most modern facility of its kind in Europe.


Late 1990s
 - K. Hartwall launches the Tray-Dolly-Pallet system for beverage logistics. The TDP system is a revolutionary solution which combines merchandising with logistics: nobody touches the product from the bottler to the shop.


2000
 - K. Hartwall strengthens its position further in the beverage industry by acquiring the tray businesses of Polimoon and Arca Systems. 

2003 - K. Hartwall acquires Elpi-Roll Containers Oy.


2006
 - K. Hartwall acquires Bekaert Handling's companies in Denmark and the UK, becoming the market leader in logistics solutions for material handling.
