More and more retailers are introducing night deliveries to avoid the rush hours and optimise their vehicle and manpower utilisation. At the same time, many countries have higher legal requirements to avoid noise disturbance in the inner city areas. Due to these needs, the low noise logistics equipment has become a must for most of the players in the Retail industry.

Based on its unique know-how in hybrid technologies and long experience of the Retail Supply Chain, K.Hartwall has developed a family of Low Noise dollies to enable its customers to deliver their products 24/7.

Now K.Hartwall has received the PIEK certification for these Low Noise Dollies which include the Hybrid Dolly and Eurodolly, ½ and ¼ pallet size plastic Dollies and the Bread Dolly, a metal Dolly used in combination with the Broban crate by the Benelux bakery industry to ensure significant reduction in handling costs from bakery to retail store.

All three products have been tested by the TNO organisation in the Netherlands and according to the test requirements set by PIEK which is to emit a maximum of 60 dB (A) at a distance of 7,5 meters.

K. Hartwall is participating to Brau Beviale - the Beverage Industry's major meeting point - on 10-12.11.2010 in Nuremberg, Germany.

K. Hartwall's new Eurodolly is the cost-efficient alternative to metal dollies and plastic pallets. The plastic dolly in quarter-pallet size takes all types of loads, including plastic trays and crates as well as cardboard boxes and sleeves. It also has an incorporated RFID tag for tracking and automatic registration of the product flow.

EASY TO REDUCE YOUR FUEL COSTS

By using Roll Containers made of high tensile steel you can tremendously reduce the weight of each truck load.
According to recent studies 1000kg lighter trailers would save 1L gasoline/100km. The difference in weight between a Roll Container made of high tensile steel - like all our Roll Containers - and a roll container made of normal steel is approximately 2 kg. This means a 13,5m trailer transporting 400 nesting roll containers is 800kg lighter, i.e. 0.8€/100km/truck can be saved, a huge saving per annum considering the amount of kilometres and trucks per day from DC's to stores and the other way around.
