Environmental responsibility in production and beyond
At K. Hartwall, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. We operate our production units strictly according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and continuously look for ways to further improve our performance.
Having our own electro zinc-plating facility, among the most modern of its kind in Europe, enables us to control the plating process and make environmentally friendly improvements. For example, we recycle 50% of the water used in the process and use natural gas to warm up the plating process in order to diffuse less CO2.
What’s more, we offer our customers solutions that provide environmental benefits throughout the supply chain. For example, our products, designed for optimal vehicle fill, help reduce emissions caused by transport. We have also developed several products that diminish or altogether eliminate the need for secondary packaging.
