1932  Erik Hartwall's machine shop begins manufacturing the wiring and clamps for the porcelain caps used by the bottling industry in Finland.


1960s
  K. Hartwall manufactures also car seat belts for Volvo and Saab.


1966
  K. Hartwall starts manufacturing shopping trolleys.


1982  K. Hartwall becomes IKEA's supplier and delivers furniture to the company for over 20 years.


1980s
  K. Hartwall develops a new concept for the Finnish retailer SOK: a space-saving, nesting roll container. The concept is developed further in the late 80s for the three major Swedish retailers: ICA, KF, and Dagab. The Compactainer® is born.


1997
  K. Hartwall inaugurates its in-house electro zinc-plating facility. It is still the most modern facility of its kind in Europe.


Late 1990s
  K. Hartwall launches the Tray-Dolly-Pallet system for beverage logistics. The TDP system is a revolutionary solution which combines merchandising with logistics: nobody touches the product from the bottler to the shop.


2000
  K. Hartwall strengthens its position further in the beverage industry by acquiring the tray businesses of Polimoon and Arca Systems. 
 

2003  K. Hartwall acquires Elpi-Roll Containers Oy.


2006
  K. Hartwall acquires Bekaert Handling's companies in Denmark and the UK, becoming the market leader in logistics solutions for material handling.
