Testing above and beyond the standard requirements
Advanced computer simulations can save time and money in product development. Nevertheless, new design concepts and innovative solutions need to be proven in physical tests before the equipment is ready for the rough and tumble of real-life logistics.
That is why K. Hartwall has comprehensive in-house testing facilities. The tests include load, stress, stability, life-cycle and noise procedures, many of which are more rigorous than the current standards require. As part of our best practices, we validate the results of Finite Element Analysis simulations against the actual physical testing of the unit.
In addition to pointing out possible areas of improvement, the tests help us streamline the product. When we know what is not needed, we can eliminate excess features and optimise the cost/quality ratio.
